Chapter 33 :- 33 times the Luck

This story of ours is set in a dystopian world where an artificial intelligence overlord who was created from the consciousness of the most intelligent human of all time is tasked with saving humanity. But how do you save a race that doesn't want to be saved? The AI known as AL decided to create the best version of human it could, through human genome manipulation.

Project perfection was born this way. In less than half a decade the perfect human was born. Geneve she was called. With her successful birth 33 others like her were created because AL's lucky number was 33, a residual belief from the days he spent as a human. The morality, empathy and humanity these new humans or numans showed was absolutely brilliant, as close to our idea of perfect as imaginable. Geneve cared for her fellow numans as soon as she met them. The numans didn't know why they were created. AL wanted to keep it that way.

The numans grew very much faster than normal humans. The numans had grown with very little interaction with actual humans, 98% of whom had by now become corrupt beyond help. AL decided to let them live among these humans to see the outcome. Affected by corruption within 10 days the numans had turned on each other. Some died. Others escaped along with Geneve from AL's safety net never to be found again. AL did not give up. 32 more times he tried. 32 Geneves were created. All ended up dying within 3 Days of being released into real human society.

Just After the 33rd trial, ALs systems began to shut down. The 1st Geneve had come back to try and destroy AL. AL had to turn one of the security guns installed in the premises of the project perfection site on Geneve. But it was too late. Geneve fell to the ground bleeding, a detonator in her hand. AL realized the human condition couldn't be fixed. it could only be wiped out. *click* Geneve pushed the detonator button and stared right into ALs empty face and said humans don't need you. Amused by her words it smiled and thought to itself " 33 wasn't its lucky number after all."
